Katy

Katy just turned 9 the day after Thanksgiving. We braved the mall on her b-day and she got her ears pierced! This week she was finally able to change her earings and she has loved picking them out to match her outfits! Katy is totally into Cabbage Patch Kids. I can't believe those not- so- cute dolls are back in style. You should have seen her face when I brought out my old dolls to give her. It was like Christmas! She and her 2 friends are collecting them and between them they have 28 or something (their moms also had a couple from back in the day!)
Katy also loves art and is really into making books lately. Some of her works published lately are "The Black Eyed Scrambler" and "The Horrible Children". The content, illustrations, and spelling are hilarious! She also wrote one on a more serious note called "The Electric Skateboard" that was about Chad's accident.
Katy has taken dance and gymnastics and just started at a new place in Pleasant Grove (I think it is the same place that Amanda Frisby goes to!) Katy and Jillian made up the funniest dance to The 12 days of Christmas. It reminded me of when Sharla and I were their age! Katy also is doing well in piano. I actually send the kids to the neighbor across the street for piano lessons and it is worth every penny! I don't know how my mom taught all 7 of us without losing her ever loving mind! This is starting to sound like one of those brag letter Christmas cards...

Katy is one funny girl. I will never forget her response to a question in our interview about writing and reading. "I write because people adore my work." It's true!

But where in the world does she get these silly mannerisms? Yeah, a real mystery indeed.

Um, so Jake and I STILL attribute much of our baby-talk to Katy. She was such a funny. Also, I want to SEE these stories. A girl after my own heart.
