Dang Doctors!
I am so annoyed right now! Emily will know exactly what I'm talking about as she had a similar experience last year. Anyway, I started getting sick on Monday night. I felt kind of Streppy, but wasn't quite sure. When I called Tuesday morning to cancel preschool, one of the moms said that their daughter got diagnosed with Strep last week after she came to school. Then I knew for sure I had it. I took myself to the doctor and they did a rapid strep test. Of course it was negative (sometime they are negative and sometimes positive). I told him I get Strep once a year and this is always what I feel like. He said if I got any worse to call in and he would treat me. Well the next morning I was doped up on Ibuprofen so I felt OK. The kids came to school and Mom and I did fine. About 1:00 I felt terrible so I looked at my tonsils. They were covered with crap and my glands were sticking out of my neck. Stupid doctors. I know when I am getting Strep-I'm not a hypochondriac. I guess I went in before all the really bad symptoms showed up, but for crying out loud. What would it hurt to prescribe something! Now I probably infected my whole class! Anyway, they called me in a prescription, but it took until 9:00 last night for them to get it done. I felt like crap all night. Lili and Mom are braving the pre school without me today-thanks! Anyway, I guess that's a long enough rant about that!

Man o man, such a bummer. Speaking of bums, have you ever tried getting the shot instead of the pills? It works very quickly.

Well, if ranting makes you feel better, you should be well now! But seriously folks, why didn't they give you the fast AND slow tests at the same time, so the slow could back up the fast? Hmmm? Sorry to hear you are feeling punk, and hope the medicine has its desired effect soon.
Amen- I hear you. I had a similar experience a few years ago- and knew I had a sinus infection and the dang doctors wouldn't give my something for 2 weeks which by then it was out of control.
I hope you feel better soon and I'm glad you have a blog because now I feel like I hear from you all the time :) take care and get better!
I really feel sorry for you. I know that feeling well of knowing it's coming. I just get really depressed and cranky knowing how I'm going to feel the rest of the week. I'm hoping the best for a quick recovery even though I know me saying that doesn't help you feel better now.
You are the only adult I know that gets strep once a year. Sheesh! It's like when people don't believe me that I have to take my kids out early or they'll be huge! Give us a little credit, eh?
Doctors are lame. They need to be better at that. Though I can understand how they feel. Sometimes I tell people at Men's Den that they don't want to rent from us just to get them out of the store... Just kidding. that isn't true at all... *runs far away*
