No title today

102. I love smelling rubber things. I can't belive I forgot to say this one! I never complain about going to Big O tires and rubberbanding the die cuts was my favorite part of that job! Once I actually licked a new tire at Fred Meyer because the smell was so overwhelming. Jordan always hands me his new balls to smell before he starts playing with them.

103. Life is my favorite cereal.

Dang Doctors!

I am so annoyed right now! Emily will know exactly what I'm talking about as she had a similar experience last year. Anyway, I started getting sick on Monday night. I felt kind of Streppy, but wasn't quite sure. When I called Tuesday morning to cancel preschool, one of the moms said that their daughter got diagnosed with Strep last week after she came to school. Then I knew for sure I had it. I took myself to the doctor and they did a rapid strep test. Of course it was negative (sometime they are negative and sometimes positive). I told him I get Strep once a year and this is always what I feel like. He said if I got any worse to call in and he would treat me. Well the next morning I was doped up on Ibuprofen so I felt OK. The kids came to school and Mom and I did fine. About 1:00 I felt terrible so I looked at my tonsils. They were covered with crap and my glands were sticking out of my neck. Stupid doctors. I know when I am getting Strep-I'm not a hypochondriac. I guess I went in before all the really bad symptoms showed up, but for crying out loud. What would it hurt to prescribe something! Now I probably infected my whole class! Anyway, they called me in a prescription, but it took until 9:00 last night for them to get it done. I felt like crap all night. Lili and Mom are braving the pre school without me today-thanks! Anyway, I guess that's a long enough rant about that!

100 wierd or little known facts about Me!

Why are we doing this-I don't know! But, I did like finding things out about Mom & Matt and Cami (those silly teenagers) so here is my attempt at delving into my innermost self and finding out who I really am!

1. I am almost technology illiterate and that is why I am learning to blog-to get with the times

2. Apparently I am good at afghaning! I didn't think it was much to shout about as it is more or less the same stitch over and over, but I tried to show my neighbor how to do a zig zag pattern (she is a quilter) and she is NOT getting it (to put it nicely)

3. When Matt won the Mr. Viking contest as the underdog, I also won the Miss Pleasant Grove contest as the underdog! So we were pretty much in charge of the whole town. Being Miss Strawberry Days is one of my crowning achievements! That is the reason Todd calls me "Short". It is derived from Strawberry shortcake which is the long version of the nickname. Alas, I gave up all the glory to get married, so if you try to verify that I was in fact crowned queen in 1993 you will find Heather Mangum in my place.

4. I often say that my delicate wrists are my best feature-probably explains why I love to make bracelets!

5. In college my friends Mindy, Jill, and I formed a singing group of sorts. We had a few gigs including one at the Furst Const. Christmas party where I worked with dad. There was a lot of swaying and such! I think we were called J.A.M-yikes!

17. I pick my eyebrows compulsively. Todd said he is tired of only seeing half my face when we are talking.

18. I mispronounce most words in the English language or make up new words just for fun. Sometimes when I meet new people, they just think I am from Lehi. Jordan's Game

This is a boring post with no pictures but a post none the less. Last Friday night we had "Black and White" night at our house (Mom, Dad, Melody, Jonny and us). This was my mom's idea when we got our theater room done last year. We have watched movies like Alfred Hitchcock stuff, Beverly Hillbillies, some Cary Grant ones, and Kathryn Hepburn. Anyway, we watched our show and then went to Jordan's B- ball game which started at 9:00 (do they think these kids are in high school or what!). The game was a nail biter the whole time. We were ahead most of the game, but only by a few points. In the last minutes we lost our lead and were behind by 2 points. Jordan got the ball and missed his shot, but stole the ball back from the kid who got the rebound. He shot it up again and was fouled, but made the shot! So then he got to shoot a free throw-which he also made to put us ahead by 1! The other team had a few seconds to make a shot but lost the ball. They kept fouling Jordan until they got over their limit and he had to shoot free throws. He missed his first shot but got the rebound and held on for dear life until the last 3 seconds ran out-hurray! It was a fun one to watch! There were also some other fun things that happened in the game I just can't remember them all. Actually my friend videoed the game, so that will be fun for Jordan to watch later.

My First Blog-Jordan

My First Blog-Jordan
Well, actually this qualifies as my second blog! And please no one expect my blog efforts to be as fancy and Cami, Matt, Emily etc. Anyway thought I would just do a little update about each of the kiddies. This is Jordan-how did he get do big already. He just turned 12 in December and is excited to be in Young Mens and be a deacon. I on the other hand was not so excited about it. I'm not ready for combined activities and the Strength of Youth pamphlet! I was so freaked out about it that is caused me to write in my journal, which only happens every several years. The world is such a mess and I am scared for my kids. It is so much easier when they are little and we can control their environment most of the time. I guess we just have to hope that they are listening when we try to teach them what is right. Anyway, he is such a fun boy to have around. He loves sports-mostly basketball, baseball and football. His favorite is whatever is in season. We finished up his first year of tackle football in the fall. He was a tight end on offense and I don't remember what on defense. It was actually really fun to watch. I thought I might panic every time he hit the ground, but I did ok. And since he has been running passing plays with Todd since he was 1 (in the living room, down the hall-wherever) he has really good hands. He even loved the hard practices 3 days a week. Anyway, now we have moved on to basketball. I think he is a forward, but I can't be certain. Maybe I will post some pictures about that. Jordan also is doing well in piano and likes being on the student council at the elementary school. Perhaps I am a little long winded and better move to the next child...

Katy

Katy just turned 9 the day after Thanksgiving. We braved the mall on her b-day and she got her ears pierced! This week she was finally able to change her earings and she has loved picking them out to match her outfits! Katy is totally into Cabbage Patch Kids. I can't believe those not- so- cute dolls are back in style. You should have seen her face when I brought out my old dolls to give her. It was like Christmas! She and her 2 friends are collecting them and between them they have 28 or something (their moms also had a couple from back in the day!)
Katy also loves art and is really into making books lately. Some of her works published lately are "The Black Eyed Scrambler" and "The Horrible Children". The content, illustrations, and spelling are hilarious! She also wrote one on a more serious note called "The Electric Skateboard" that was about Chad's accident.
Katy has taken dance and gymnastics and just started at a new place in Pleasant Grove (I think it is the same place that Amanda Frisby goes to!) Katy and Jillian made up the funniest dance to The 12 days of Christmas. It reminded me of when Sharla and I were their age! Katy also is doing well in piano. I actually send the kids to the neighbor across the street for piano lessons and it is worth every penny! I don't know how my mom taught all 7 of us without losing her ever loving mind! This is starting to sound like one of those brag letter Christmas cards...
